I haven’t done any gaming since the summer. Work’s been mostly boring. I did get to attend ZendCon10 in Santa Clara. I’m hooked on this whole con thing. I want to go to cons for gaming, computing, photography, Dr. Who, hacking, smart phones… you name it! If it’s a subject matter I’m interested in, I want to go to a conference about it!

While at ZendCon, I did take the ZCE exam for PHP 5.3 and PASSED! I’m a Zend Certified Engineer (PHP 5.3) now! Woot Woot!

My next certification will be my CEH/CNDA (Certified Ethical Hacker .. or “Certified Network Defense Architect” as the Gov’t likes to call us.) Hoping to take that exam in April or so.

I read “American Gods” by Neil Gaiman, and my kids love the Percy Jackson series of novels (I’m reading through them myself now … not bad at all.) So our Summer Gaming will be using White Wolf’s “Scion” rules set to run a game based loosely on the Percy Jackson Universe. This is goiing to be great! So far, Rose (my oldest, currently 12) wants to play a character based loosely on Annabeth, Tim (the only boy-child, 10) is uncertain, our friend plans currently on making a “child” of Artemis and I’ve got a son of Hephaestus all spec’d out. (I also have an awesome son of Odin, if I can work him into the game, but for now the plan is to have only Greek Scions.)
